```John Fogerty New York reviews
Incredible!
John Fogerty’s performance at Radio City Music Hall last night was absolutely amazing! He was so full of love, gratitude, and the pure joy of owning the rights to his Creedence songs after fifty years (!), and it was a beautiful, triumphant celebration! He’ll be 78 next month, and played with the vitality of someone in their 20s. His sons Tyler and Shane and their band Hardy Har opened the show, and they backed him onstage as well. His performance was so electric that I couldn’t fall asleep until 5am. The audience energy also was electric, and appreciative of all he’d been through over the years to finally get his early catalog back. From the first note to the last, it was a celebration of renewal, rather than simply a nostalgic look back at a body of work. I was so busy taking it all in that I only took these two photos: One of the onstage logo before the concert started, and one of the monitor when he played Centerfield on a guitar made in the shape of a baseball bat. He played all of his Creedence originals with the energy that was waiting for him in those songs all this time. He also played some of his later solo songs, including one he wrote for Julie, his wife of 32 years. She’s largely responsible for winning his songs back, and also tracing, finding, and retrieving the red guitar John played at Woodstock, which he played onstage. He hasn’t missed a step in fifty years, and played and sang spectacularly last night. The words “love fest” come closest to describing it, and I’m so happy we were there! I’ve been to many concerts over the years, and this show was one of the best of all time!
